The all new Yamaha R15 is the first of its kind in Indian market from Yamaha designed for power, looks and power the mean machine is fully packed state of the art technologies. Yamaha R15 has been introduced in new colours and body graphics, the new R15 is now available in four new shades that are “Midnight black”, “Sunset Red”, and “Racing Blue”, “Impact Yellow”. Here are all the options:-

There is a new design on the side flaps which extends to the tank of the bike. There is a new R15 sticker above the left headlamp. Looks and Style of Yamaha R15

Yamaha R15 has all the characteristics of motorcycles which designed by Yamaha to represent the R series which reflects the philosophy running through these models — expressing performance visually. For example, YZF-R6 shows a strong body line that springs up in a single line from the rear axle to the pivot and then to the head pipe. This is a visual expression of the straight shape of the Deltabox frame.

These elements are a visual expression of “frame rigidity.” Viewed from the side, the shape of Yamaha R15 created by the side panel and the upper surface of the tank creates an impression of the center of gravity shifting to the front tire. This is a visual representation of how the front tire grips the road in its sporty running performance. Needless to say, YZF-R1, with its athletic build, is also a visual expression of performance. This philosophy has been fully transmitted to YZF-R15. An important point to note is that this motorcycle is not a scaled-down version of YZF-R1 or YZF-R6. YZF-R15’s design is based on having an excellent engine cooling method. The shape of the cowling around the radiator area was determined so that the shapes of the air intake area and the rear outlet area where the air is scooped out are optimized to improve radiator efficiency. As for the outlet area, the mid-cowl area was designed using sculpturing 3D methods to create a three dimensional shape with a sense of volume. rst for the Indian market. The core of Yamaha R15 (Engine)

YZF-R15 is powered by an all-aluminum cylinder called the DiASil Cylinder and a forged piston, the same type of piston used in Yamaha’s supersport bikes. The fact that both the piston and cylinder of YZF-R15 are all-aluminum ensures excellent heat dissipation, eliminates heat-induced engine power loss, and helps improve fuel efficiency. The DiASil Cylinder is given a special surface treatment to prevent oil evaporation from the cylinder’s surface and improve oil consumption. The cylinder also has excellent hardness and is considerably resistant to wear compared to conventional iron sleeves.

Additionally, the piston of Yamaha R15 is made in a forging process, the optimum way of achieving lightweight designs.The reciprocating mass with the forged piston is approximately 20% less ( according to Yamaha test ) than with an engine of the same displacement fitted with a conventional cast aluminum piston. Resulting in an invigorating feeling when revving up. Conventional pistons are typically made in a casting process where molten aluminum is cast in a mold.

Yamaha developed its proprietary “controlled forging technology” in 1997, which enables mass production of forged aluminum pistons. These pistons have been used in sport models such as the R series. The same manufacturing process was used to develop YZF-R15. Forged pistons retain the excellent strength of aluminum alloys because the metallurgic matrix of aluminum is not affected during the fabrication process. Therefore, the piston can be made lighter and thinner.

Chassis of Yamaha R15

YZF-R15 comes with a linked type monocross suspension that delivers a comfortable ride and a cushioning performance that is less prone to bottoming out. In particular, it reduces annoying “sinking” when riding tandem. The linked monocross suspension consists of a link mechanism sandwiched between the rear arm and cushion unit to create changes in the lever ratio based on the lever effect. When the shock absorber is almost fully extended, the lever ratio is high and therefore the spring is soft, and the damper works softly as well.

As the shock absorber strokes in, the lever ratio of Yamaha R15 gradually decreases and the spring rate increases. Eventually, when it is nearly fully stroked in, the lever ratio becomes small and the spring becomes hard and strong. The damper also becomes hard. By making changes to the lever ratio in this way, we were able to achieve soft riding comfort as well as excellent damping under intense load conditions.

The optimization of the frame and rear arm rigidity of the Deltabox Frame of Yamaha R15 combined with the effects of the linked type monocross suspension achieve good riding comfort, agile handling, and turnability, hardly ever causing bottoming out. In order to maximize the efficiency of the fuel injector, which injects the optimum amount of fuel for different amounts of intake air, YZF-R15 is equipped with a large 3-liter air cleaner. The duct area of the intake duct was designed optimally to optimize the flow of intake air.

Additionally, the use of a 4-valve combustion chamber (a combustion chamber with 2 intake and exhaust valves each) has allowed designers to layout the spark plug at the center of the combustion chamber for better flame propagation. This also increases the total valve area relative to the 2-valve chambers for improved intake/exhaust efficiency (volumetric efficiency). YZF-R15 is fitted with a hemispherical 4-valve combustion chamber, a configuration that allows intake and exhaust valves to be laid out in the smallest size possible.

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled Suzuki-R3 concept car as the multi purpose vehicle (MPV) at New Delhi Auto Expo 2010 . Suzuki’s R3 is one of the small concept cars showcased this year in auto expo,  R3 is totally designed in India with in nine months for the competitive Indian car market in its segment, gives Maruti a boosts against Tata, Toyota,  Nissan,  GM and Honda.

The R3 Concept was based on the needs of the consumers who required a multi purpose vehicle without compromising on the elegance and compactness of the exterior. R3 fulfills there requirements by providing substantial amount of cargo space, which can be enhanced by R3’s fordable seats.

Managing director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi said that the Maruti R3 MPV concept will carve a new segment in the Indian market and described R3 as a family car, six-seater will satisfied the needs of large families.

R3 have stylish rearward opening doors instead of sliding doors to provide more comfort to the passengers.

As there was no declaration about engine, the car could have 1.2 and 1.4 liter petrol engines, and a Fiat-built 1.3-liter diesel engine with five speed manual transmission as shown in the prototype.

Because Maruti R3 MPV concept car will be designed entirely in India, and will also be built in India. So the expected cost should be low .

Maruti Suzuki has not declared any launch date of this MUV, production schedule , technical details and pricing. But it will be launched with in two years.

Facing the stiff competition in the auto market Mahindra decided to allow its engineers to make the masterpiece car. Mahindra Xylo is the result of efforts by 160 engineers who did research and development and took the best features from every Mahindra car and embedded them in the new Xylo.

Mahindra Xylo presently available as a model variant of CRDe technology. It is a Utility Vehicle type model, which comes under the C+ segment of the car category. The diesel engine offers a displacement of 2500cc, all giving a maximum power of 110 bhp at the rate of 3200 rpm. While on the other hand torque offered by the car is 28.3 kgm at the rate of 1700 rpm. With the sitting capacity of 8 passangers this car is included in the category of Utility Vehicles, it has a minimum turning radius of 5.60 mts.

This turning radius is achieved with the help of power steering. Front brakes of the car are disk type while the rear brakes are drum type. The five gear option of the car are manually operated. TVS showcased its upcoming bike in the 10th Auto Expo. The TVS QUBE is a scooter which looks promising and seems that the machine will give a challenge to other competitors in its category. It runs on TVS Pep+ engine but has an electric motor. The company didn’t specify about the launch date as yet, but rumors are rife that the QUBE will roll out in 2010. The scooter is based on award-winning QUBE concept. The design of the TVS QUBE scooter echoes one point – that less is more. Wheel caps, the speedometer console, side panels, fan cover, exhaust, and the seat with the fused tail lights gives the scooter a refreshing look and the company says they designed it after taking inspiration from the award-winning QUBE.

TVS QUBE uses a hybrid electric motor which strikes a perfect balance between efficiency and lesser carbon emissions thereby complying with the company’s mission of producing eco-friendly vehicles and stands an example of company’s commitment to pursuing green technology. The green technology used in this vehicle contributes to about 30 % reduced CO2 emission reduction, and about 30% higher fuel economy.

Audi is looking to use e-tron name for its upcoming electric cars. The Audi cars will carry the e-tron logo on their rear, similar to the way models now bear the “quattro” designation.

Audi has decided to produce an 100 units of its e-tron electric sports car in the initial phase at its factory in Ingolstadt, Germany, in 2012. The car was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.

An expansion of this small production volume to 1,000 units is planned. No decision has yet been made on where the vehicle will be built long term.

This year, Audi is launching new models such as the A1, A7 and A8 and intends to sell more than a million vehicles. A total of 1.3 million units are planned for 2012.

Audi’s 2020 corporate strategy for the next 10 years says that the automaker has to position itself with alternative drives to meet rising customer requirements. Launching e-tron cars is part of the company’s plan to meet an expected increasing demand for zero emission cars.

The company said that this updated model is powered with a high-performance, twin-turbo diesel engine capable of 205 hp and 420 Nm of torque.

Paul de Voijs, managing director, Volvo Auto India, said, “Sometimes a subtle ‘hum’ is more powerful than a roar. With the new S80, we’re placing the bar at the highest level when it comes to exclusiveness, quality and driving properties. Our mission was to develop a modern diesel engine – with the benefits that go with them – which also meets the emission EURO 5. This is yet another step in our determination to reduce the combustion engine’s environmental impact, at the same time as we give customers a truly quiet and sophisticated engine with excellent performance. However, the refreshed S80 should not just be seen, it has to be experienced.”

Volvo said that this new model is Euro V compliant and would deliver a combined fuel efficiency of 13 kmpl.
