Maruti increases cars price nearly all Maruti Suzuki car models

According to the recent news India's premiere car company Maruti has decided to increase price of its models. The price increase ranges from 1000 Rs to 10,000 Rs with immediate effect. Today(02/04/2010 2 April Friday) in a statement Maruti stated that "due to sharp increase in the input costs and also introduction of BS-IV norms in some models, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has decided to pass on part of this cost impact to customers." The company also stated its withdrawal of introductory price on Eeco. The price for Maruti Suzuki Eeco will go up 10,000 Rs approx. Prices have also been revised on the BS-III compliant cars like Maruti 800 and Omni (LPG) by Rs 3,000 and Gypsy by Rs 10,000. Maruti Suzuki Cervo New Small Car By Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch its small car "Cervo" in competition to the Tata Nano and the upcoming low-priced cars from Hyundai and Nissan.

The Maruti Suzuki Cervo will be powered by Suzuki 660cc , K6A DOHC engine with VVT and Bluetooth capability, that can generate 60 bhp of power, comparing to its current rival Tata Nano that has 623cc engine. The Cervo is coming with an automatic 4-speed gearbox and the car will be available in both 2WD and 4WD. The cervo will provide an unique experience for city ride by its features and fuel efficiency .This car will be on roads by the end of this year.

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled Suzuki-R3 concept car as the multi purpose vehicle (MPV) at New Delhi Auto Expo 2010 . Suzuki's R3 is one of the small concept cars showcased this year in auto expo, R3 is totally designed in India with in nine months for the competitive Indian car market in its segment, gives Maruti a boosts against Tata, Toyota, Nissan, GM and Honda.The R3 Concept was based on the needs of the consumers who required a multi purpose vehicle without compromising on the elegance and compactness of the exterior. R3 fulfills there requirements by providing substantial amount of cargo space, which can be enhanced by R3's fordable seats.Managing director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi said that the Maruti R3 MPV concept will carve a new segment in the Indian market and described R3 as a family car, six-seater will satisfied the needs of large families.Maruti Suzuki Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales Mayank Pareek said “Over the years, Maruti Suzuki has ushered in millions of joyous moments in the form of delivering reliable products, offering prompt and careful after-sales services, and forging a long-term relationship with its valued customers. ‘Joys of Life’ as a theme celebrates this long history.”R3 have stylish rearward opening doors instead of sliding doors to provide more comfort to the passengers.At the front, high-intensity lighting concealed with aluminum accents on the side, a glass roof and a chrome grille. The Dual-exhaust pipes provides powerful look from behind wheels.As there was no declaration about engine, the car could have 1.2 and 1.4 liter petrol engines, and a Fiat-built 1.3-liter diesel engine with five speed manual transmission as shown in the prototype.Because Maruti R3 MPV concept car will be designed entirely in India, and will also be built in India. So the expected cost should be low .Maruti Suzuki has not declared any launch date of this MUV, production schedule , technical details and pricing. But it will be launched with in two years.

Car Price Hiked By Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki has raised price for most of its models by Rs 10 Thousand to compensate the increase in the production cost, which includes the cost of steel. The average increase in price is about 0.6 per cent, it varies from 0.12 percent for Ritz VDi at the lower end to 1.9 percent for the Dzire LXi models, Maruti Suzuki india said in a statement, but did not share the hike in rupee terms. However, the hike would range between a few hundred rupees to as high as Rs 10,000 per car, as per the current on-road prices of various models.However, the car company's recently launched multi purpose vehicle Eeco, and the petrol variant of the small car Swift and its Gypsy models will not be affected by the price hike.“The price increase is to partly recover the increase in the input costs arising out of raw material costs over the past one year. For some models the increase in the costs are being absorbed by the company,” the company said.It also said that the introductory prices for its refreshed Estilo, which was introduced in August last year, has been withdrawn. Estilo will now be expensive by Rs 1,243-Rs 2,486 depending on the variants.India largest car maker Maruti Suzuki's decision to hike prices comes after similar measures by other auto makers, including Honda Siel Cars India and luxury carmaker BMW, in the past one month.

Maruti Suzuki 2010 AutoExpo concept car can be made in India

After unveiling its A-star concept in the 2008 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki is all set to unveil its second concept car at the forthcoming Auto Expo scheduled for early next year. Though the company has not revealed anything, there is speculation that this concept car would be the first made-in-India car by Maruti Suzuki India Limited. India’s largest carmaker, which had earlier reported that it will build a car on its own by 2012, has recently indicated to the media that it will launch the car based on its existing platform for the ‘Made-In-India’ car.Though the exact reasons could not be ascertained, it has been learnt from well-informed sources that due to insufficient engineering strength from Maruti, it will produce a small car on its existing platform. India's largest passenger carmaker has, however, yet not revealed anything about the pricing, positioning or other specifics of the model. The made in India car will be another major step in the company's efforts to achieve its goal of developing products on its own.“We would unveil the concept of our new small car that is being developed from scratch. This is first time Maruti is developing a new car on its own and the primary aim would be to exhibit our design skills and engineering talent. We may not have new platforms but display some interesting concepts for future cars,” I. V. Rao, the company’s managing executive officer (engineering), was quoted as saying to ET exclusively.It may be recalled that on the sidelines of SIAM meet in New Delhi, I. V. Rao was quoted as saying to reporters, "We have started the ground work to launch a car which is conceived, designed and developed fully in India. We are hopeful of rolling out the car in the next four years, he added. He, however, declined to comment whether it would be a small car or a bigger one. "We are discussing it internally," Rao said, adding groundwork such as preparing for manpower, capacity and other related infrastructure has started,” as revealed by Rao more than 3 months back."Our ultimate aim is to have products developed on our own," Rao said.

Maruti Suzuki has launched a new powerful SX4 sedan with an engine powered by a VVT (Variable Valve Timing) engine, as well as an optional 4-speed automatic transmission variant.The SX4 is now BS IV compliant in keeping with the new norms to be introduced in the country in April 2010.Announcing the new SX4, Mr. Mayank Pareek, Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) said, “The 4-speed automatic transmission addresses the needs of today’s cosmopolitan customers for convenience in the stop-start city traffic conditions.”Changes include a new sporty honeycomb grille and 10-spoke 16 inch alloy wheels. Also on offer are new dual tone interiors, illuminated steering mounted controls, USB connectivity on the dashboard, auto climate control system, and windshield antenna.The automatic transmission features an overdrive mode.With a more efficient engine, the SX4’s four-valve per cylinder, 1.6 litre engine produces a maximum power of 103bhp (104.68PS) @5600 rpm and maximum torque of 145Nm @4100 rpm. The new SX4 will be available with both Manual and Automatic transmissions.While ,Automatic Transmission is available only with the ZXi variant with optional leather upholstery.Manual Transmission has two variants VXi and ZXi.
