Tata Nano is the smallest and cheapest car launched by Tata Motors in the Indian market. Tata Motors has tried to reach out to the Indian middle class segment by launching this car. It has been an objective of the company to provide mobility to the Indian middle class an affordable price.
Tata Nano is available in six sizzling colours namely Sunshine Yellow, Ivory White, Lunar Silver, Summer Blue, Champagne Gold and Racing Red. The car has Body Colour Bumpers, Body Colour Door Handles, Body Coloured ORVM (Driver Side), Front and Rear fog lamps, Sleek Wheel Covers, Clear Lens Headlamp and Tail Lamps, High Mounted Tail Lamps and Tinted Glasses. Tata Nano has a wealth of comfort features. Although a small car yet it provides a comfortable headroom and legroom for the occupants. The car has AC with heater, front power windows, cup holders in front console, IRVM, High end gear shift console with provision for mobile charger/cigarette lighter, coil holder on all doors and Map pocket integral with driver and co-driver seat. Other comfort features include integrated front rear seat headrests, sun visor on driver and passenger side, driver and passenger seat with slider, front and rear assist grips, automatic head lamp leveling, low fuel warning lamp and rear seat folding.
Tata Nano has a variety of safety features. The car has Radial tubeless tyres, Front and Rear Seat Belts, Booster assisted brakes, Door lock on driver and passenger side, Center High mount stop lamp and central locking. Other safety features include strong passenger compartment with crumple zones and intrusion-resistant doors. The advanced suspension system reduces the jerks and provides hassle free and safe driving.
Tata Nano is equipped with 0.6 L, 624 cc, 2 cylinder with MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection System), petrol engine. The engine produces a maximum power of 35 PS at 5250 rpm and a maximum torque of 48 Nm at 2500-3500 rpm. For the first time a car has been powered by a two-cylinder gasoline engine, with a single balancer shaft. Tata Nano is said to be most fuel efficient car in Indian auto market and it offers a mileage of around 19 kmpl at urban roads while on highway it gives 26 kmpl. The tailpipe emission of Tata Nano is equipped with many regulatory requirements which help to reduce pollution.
