FIAT Linea 1.4 litre T-Jet new variant of Linea

Fiat is all set to launch the new Fiat Linea 1.4 litre. The new T-Jet variant comes with a 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine which generates 118bhp. The T-Jet will be the only car in its category to sport a turbo charged petrol engine and will take on segment leader, Honda city. The new 1.4 litre motor will be coupled along with a w five speed manual transmission. This motor is said to have a good amount of low end torque which gives better mileage and fuel efficiency.

The new Fiat Punto ads have flooded the media. It has a length of about 3987 mm which is 13 mm smaller than the 4 meters so it fulfils the criteria of small cars. This proves great for the customer as well as the car companies, since it allows an 16% concession on excise duty. Small cars are also proved by their engine capacity of 1.2 Litres or less to get excise duty benefit Fiat India took the chassis of Grande Punto and fitted in the 1172cc petrol engine that is also powers its previous hatchback Fiat Palio. Also the 1.2L, 1172cc, 8-valve, FIRE petrol engine is surely cheaper than its 1.4L engine petrol counterpart. Its 1.2L FIRE petrol engine can produce 68PS power @ 6000rpm and 96Nm torque @ 2500rpm.

Low price cars cheaper than Tata Nano to hit Indian roads

After the Tata Nano other car companies too have set there minds to bring small low budget cars in India, pricing less than 2 Lakhs. Having no competitors so far Tata Nano leads the competition. The cars expected in this series are Hyundai’s new 800cc car, a low cost car from Nissan Renault Bajaj joint venture. Apaart from these some big names like US based General Motors and France based Fiat are also in the league to launch there cars in this low cost segment.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta will it amaze us

Shown at the Geneva motor show. Alfa seems to be reviewing the old 147 with the name Giulietta. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta is a mix of steel and aluminium design it borrows cues from the 8C supercar. The Giulietta is to have 5 doors, it has sweptback headlights and narrow glasshouse. The rear handles are hidden in C-pillar,  just like the old 147’s, to give a coupé feel. The sports car feel continues inside with red-lit instruments grouped into two hooded binnacles and a wide expanse of dashboard with modern-style toggle switches.
