Mahindra and Mahindra Limited has produced their first Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) – Scorpio. The vehicle has all the features that could be expected of an SUV. Mahindra Scorpio is a blend of robust looks, powerful performance and latest technology.
Mahindra Scorpio is available in various vibrant colours namely Warm Grey, Coral Blue, Diamond White, Toreader Red, Mist Silver, Rocky Beige, Fiery Black, Java Brown, Mystic Purple and Nobel Black. The car has very tough looks. The front comprises of bold slotted grille, multi focal head lights and sleek fog lamps. The embossed side cladding is really eye catching. On the whole the vehicle has a rough and sturdy appearance and its huge body easily catches attention on the road. The sparkling tail lamps cluster which runs all the way from roof to bumper gives an elegant look to the car.
Mahindra Scorpio has a host of comfort features. The car has tiltable power steering, wide centre arm rests, power windows (front and rear seats) and internally adjustable ORVMs. Other comfort features include sliding seats in the middle row, headrests in the front seat, remote tail gate and fuel lid opener. The car is ultra spacious with sufficient leg room and head room for the occupants. The car has huge luggage space, cup holders in central bezel IP and console, ticket holders, console box etc. The car also has rear wash, wipers and demister. The cushioned seats ensure utmost comfort to its occupants. Mahindra Scorpio has 2 DIN audio player with 4 speakers.
Mahindra Scorpio has a wealth of safety features. The car has excellent braking system. The car is fitted with Dual SRS Airbag, ABS (Anti Lock Braking System), collapsible steering column and intrusion beam. The car also has crash protecting crumple zones. Power assisted steering wheel makes driving a hassle free. The seats are fitted with seat belts and pretensioners. The fire retardant upholstery prevents the spread of fire. Other safety features include child lock, high mounted stop lamp, double horn, side impact beams and tubeless tyres.
Mahindra Scorpio is powered by 2.2L, 2179 cc diesel engine. The engine uses CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) fuel supply system with 4 valves per cylinder. The engine uses 2 stage chain drive system. It produces a maximum power of 120 bhp at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 290 Nm at 1800-2800 rpm.
